Chaparral is a residential neighbourhood in the south-east quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the southern edge of the city, south of the Marquis de Lorne Trail. To the east it is bordered by the Bow River Valley, to the south by 194 Avenue SE, and to the west by Macleod Trail.
Three distinct divisions make up the total community of Chaparral.
Lake Chaparral is the largest division of Chaparral with 2950 households. Residents of the lake division enjoy the exclusive year round use of a 32-acre (130,000 m2) artificial lake and a 21-acre (85,000 m2) park with two waterfalls.
Chaparral Ridge is made up of approximately 800 households located on the NE Corner of Chaparral. Overlooking Fish Creek Provincial Park, the Ridge has some of the best views in the area.
Chaparral Valley, the newest division of Chaparral, will have over 800 homes when Genstar Land Developer finishes this district. Chaparral Valley is nestled in the heart of Fish Creek Provincial Park. Extensive pathways and views of the Blue Devil Golf course are features Valley residents enjoy.
About the Chaparral Community Association (CCA)
Chaparral Community Association (CCA) is a non-profit community association aimed at helping the people in the community live richer lives.
In 2000 concerned residents started the formation of the Chaparral Community Association. This was to address issues that concerned the residents of Chaparral that either did not fall under the purview of the Chaparral Residents Association that deals with Lake Chaparral or concerned residents who were not part of the Lake Chaparral community (Chaparral Ridge and now Chaparral Valley).
They formed a non- profit community association July 17th, 2001.
